Goodbye 2017 Hello 2018

2017 started off promising but as I took time to reflect on it, I did a lot of stupid things like lie, put others needs before mine, and just made all the wrong decisions thinking they wouldn’t come back to bite me in the ass. I’m ending it 60 pounds lighter and some sense knocked into my thick skull. The biggest thing I’m taking with me into 2018 is accountability!!!!!!!! That’s the most constructive criticism that I can give myself. Another is self love. When I say I love myself so much people don’t understand how long I went on with my life hating myself. It prevented me from doing so much. I want to shout it out to the world now. It’s crazy to think that I’d ever be here with this mindset.ย I even have a tattoo on my arm to remind me that I can set my mind to anything and just fucking go for it. Lastly all my gym knowledge. Tia and Adrian are angels that were sent to me from the man upstairs to just really make me feel so much more confident in the gym. I love knowing that I’m not fucking up my knee or back. I have safe workouts and for Christmas I got the flatest shoes to start deadlifting this new year. Everything else can stay in 2017. The last thing I had to do was delete everything toxic from my Facebook and I did it. I sat there for a good 20 minutes and cried and in that moment I knew I was officially over my ex. There’s no more hate in my bones for him. It may have taken half a year but it feels so good. No more crying about shit that doesn’t matter. I realized that he was no longer meant to be in my life and I needed to let go and move on.

Last year broke me but here I am leaving 2017 in the past. I was taught a lot of life lessons but I’m truly blessed to be alive and working on a better me. Since starting this weight loss journey I started as Drake would say from the bottom and now I’m here. I still have fat but there’s less of it. I work my ass off and eat right. I am still Vegan which is so crazy because I never stuck with diets. At this point all of this is an overall lifestyle change and I’m so glad to be on this journey.

Here’s a list of goals I have for 2018 with due dates attached because otherwise there just aspirations. I won’t be putting the dates on here but they will be on my board.

  • have a proud savings account
  • be a better Vegan( learn more recipes)
  • move out (It’s happening eeeekkkkkkk)
  • be debt free( 2 credit cards to go)
  • graduate ( almost there )
  • makeup game
  • deadlift 220
  • collar bones by the end of 2018
  • better relationship with God
  • workouts with _____ ( for the blog)
  • cardio one hour a day at anytime even if workout is done at 9Rounds
  • get stronger
  • bye bye double chin
  • read 30 books ( lower bar since 50 was pushing it)
  • road trip
  • fly somewhere
  • go on dates ( be single and love every second of it )
  • attend a lakers game this year
  • lots of music shows
  • cut your hair
  • go blonder
  • bike rides downtown
  • soul cycle classes
  • pay off car and do some maintenance
  • love yourself
  • inspire others
  • don’t sweat the small stuff
  • be kind to others
  • more family time

2018 is not a new year, new me. It’s a new year, better me. I will be better and prosper. I hope you guys set goals and demolish them. I know I plan on it. 2018 is all about growth, loving myself, believing in myself, raising the bar, being a better catholic, accountability, and fully ย unapologetically being that fatgirl at the gym changing her life lifting and running like no one is watching.

Here’s some of my favorite memories for 2017

  1. I have been following your blog since the summer and you motivated me as I was also going through a break up. Not sure if it was fate that I found you but thank you for everything you gave me. I love myself so much. I found me again and I lost the 15 pounds I wanted to lose and gained a lot of muscle. I’m a fit person and I even loved the workouts you were doing. Again thank you! You’re truly inspiring. I know it’s just a matter of time before you get to your goals! Always remember who gave you the time of day when you get to the size you want to be. Remember who used you and what you don’t want in your life anymore. Keep it up. I was also wondering if you can do a post on spots around Houston to eat that are Vegan? I also turned Vegan because of you and that helped my stomach so much so there’s another Thank You. Some of my friends subscribed to your blog after they saw how truly inspired I was. I follow you on social media as well and the books you recommended were just everything. I just want to give you the biggest hug! My friends and I support you and I can’t wait to see where 2018 takes you.
    Love always
    Your fellow Houstonian

    1. Thank you for taking time out of your day to let me know this. It makes my soul happy to know that I inspire you. Having your heart broken is the worst feeling but when you pick up the pieces you get to choose what you do or don’t want back in your life. I’ve never been this happy in my entire life and I’m glad you’re apart of my blog. I definitely will be doing more vegan post because I plan on losing 100 pounds by the end of the year and vegan food is always a good option Lol
While I’m on this journey I plan on being vegan so trust me I’ll find spots!
God bless and I hope you know that these words mean everything to me.
